The magic of a true listening room.
There’s something special that happens when the lights dim at Westward and everyone settles in for a Living Room Session. Volume 5 with Hoi Ann was one of those quietly electric nights… the kind where you can feel everyone in the room actually listening.
Hoi Ann’s sound is soft, haunting, and heartbreakingly honest. They told the crowd that our space felt like home because when they play in bars, people don’t always know what to do with quiet, thoughtful music.
Jay Egan-Wright and Michael Meier as duo, Hoi Ann.
But here? You could’ve heard a pin drop between songs (in the best way). It’s exactly why we started these sessions, to give artists the kind of space that meets their music where it lives.
We’ve had so many musicians mention how refreshing it is to play what they call a listening show. No background chatter, no clinking glasses, just people soaking in every note. In Wyoming, that kind of experience feels rare and a little magical.
If you were there, you know what we mean. If you weren’t, don’t worry, Volume 6 is on the way. Keep an eye out, because these nights fill up fast, and they’re everything we love about community, creativity, and connection all in one cozy room.
